About

Hi! I’m Dan!

I have always had an infatuation with the visual arts. I was never much of an drawer or a painter, I just didn't have the patience for that. I wanted to be able to look at something and instantly see the art behind it. That’s how I fell in love with photography.

When I was 7 or 8 years old, my grandmother let me use her camera when I went to visit her and my grandfather in St. Louis. I was there for 10 days and didn't put the camera down the entire time. I actually have some of those photos still laying around somewhere.

Fast forward to 2010 when I bought my first camera. I TOOK PICTURES OF EVERYTHING! Holy hell, they were so bad! I had no idea what I was doing and I loved every minute of it. I learned so much about photography in that first year, it was insane!

Eventually, I worked my way on to a music video set for Springwood Productions taking behind the scenes photos. Again, the photos were awful but they allowed me to be exposed to Jess and her team at the time, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I started going to more shoots with Jess and taking more pictures. Eventually, Jess had me press the little red record button on my camera and OH BOY did that open up a new can of worms! Since that day, I have never looked back. Video was my passion.

I had always been involved in music. I started playing saxophone when I was in the third grade. In the 5th grade, my friend John and I taught ourselves how to play guitar. I went on to play in a few bands in high school and fell in love with the recording arts. When I went to college at Lebanon Valley College, I studied Music Recording Technology and graduated with a Bachelor's of Music degree. As part of my senior project, I offered to record Jess's younger brother Jon's EP. Through that experience, I was able to build a relationship that would last a lifetime. Jess and I are now business partners in Springwood Productions, I was the best man in her wedding, and I now play bass for Jon's band Jon Garcia and the Hopeless Romantics. It's amazing how life works.

After college, I worked a few dead end jobs. They were fun, don't get me wrong, but none of them were ever something I truly enjoyed doing or even a true career. At my most recent job, Red Hawk, I met some pretty great people. I loved my time at Red Hawk. However, I knew that if I wanted to be truly happy in life, I needed to pursue my own dreams. So, in October of 2018, I decided to step away from my full-time position as Red Hawk and chase my dream of being a videographer.

And that is where I am now, truly and whole-heartedly living the dream! Telling a story with each day that passes. Will you let me help tell yours?
